Bubba Watson
Watson's sudden-death playoff with Louis Oozthuizen made for a thrilling conclusion to the Masters Golf Tournament. But watching him ice Billy Payne in the award ceremony is far more entertaining in GIF form.

Here at the Daily Dot, we swap GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you in. In the Morning GIF, we feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.

We’d like to congratulate Bubba Watson on his Masters Golf Tournament win. It’s not often a southpaw triumphs at Augusta, and for Watson it’s the first major championship in a nine-year career. Coming after a sudden-death playoff with Louis Oosthuizen, the win must be all the sweeter.

That’s all the more reason then to shake the hand of Augusta National chairman Billy Payne. It’s not clear if Watson merely misunderstood his gesture or deliberately iced him with extreme prejudice, but when Payne attempted to shake the champion’s hand, Watson seemed to fake him out before going in for the clench with previous champ Charl Schwartzel.

Payne took recourse in the familiar “I was going to scratch my nose anyway” gesture, fooling no one.

This GIF comes to us from SBNation, where it has doubtless brought joy to thousands of passive-aggressive golfers who dislike being associated with middle-aged men in ugly ties.
