In YouTube Right Now, the Daily Dot looks at videos that catch our eyes, push our buttons, and move our dials—and that you’ve just got to watch. Right now!
See those scraps of drywall on the floor? The pensive, praying mantis posture? This hamster knows he's up to something.
The little fur ball (we'll call him Al) is a deceptive one, well-versed in the age-old art of the duck and move. He can escape the wrath of his owner, Anasthasius Mike, by playing dead for a few short seconds.
Fortunately, this hamster's got more acting chops than the rat from Ratatouille. Little dude goes down like Omar Little when his owner's finger trigger goes pop.
The 17-second scene was posted onto YouTube Friday and has already racked up nearly half a million views, many from people who appear a bit too sold on the Oscar-winning performance from Al the hamster.
"This is particularly cruel, Mike," mneme1000 wrote after watching the video. "what are you thinking for God's sake, the little thing is terrified."
"that's not adorable at a ll," BellaDawnaa added. "the thing is scared shitless and when you do that with your finger he flinches and gives himself a heart attack."
Anasthasius Mike was quick to point out the video was made in good taste.
"Chill people the hamster is fine," he wrote. "This is all done in good humor. :) Peace."
