Some men go to great lengths to create the perfect marriage proposal for their significant other. This proposal had all the elements to be picture-perfect, but it ended in a massive fail. On a paddleboat.

YouTuber Swilk 16 uploaded the video of himself proposing to his girlfriend on a paddleboat. Everything was going smoothly until his girlfriend sees a group of people on the shoreline holding signs.

In the video she can be heard saying “shut up” several times. Then she makes a big mistake. She jokingly hits her soon-to-be fiancé and knocks the ring right out of his hand.

Which results in…


 

Eek.

Almost immediately, the dude and his buddies slide off the paddleboat into the water to search for the missing ring. Unfortunately, the video ends before we know if the ring is found; the YouTube user offers no explanation. Let this be a lesson to all: Never propose on a paddleboat.
