The Hamdog brings together the best of both worlds.

It’s exactly what it sounds like—the brilliant combination of a hamburger and hot dog. Australian creator Mark Murray originally filed a patent for the idea in the United States back in 2006, having to wait until 2009 for it to get approved. Since then, he’s been busy pitching the idea on Shark Tank and getting the word out about the Hamdog.

To make the hot dog weiner fit, the beef patty is sliced in half for the sausage to run through the middle. This meaty mashup is then served on a specialty bun that’s baked by hand in a Perth bakery. Add lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, and some condiments and voila, you’ve got yourself the Hamdog.

Want in on the Hamdog business? Murray is currently letting people buy in. By putting down $10,000, you’ll be allowed to sell the Hamdog yourself.

Meanwhile, Murray is busy selling the Hamdog at markets and fairs. They go for $8 a sandwich.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen a wild fusion between two foods (remember Burger King has those Mac n’ Cheetos), but the Hamdog is definitely something we could chow down while at a backyard barbecue or at the county fair. Because if you’re craving both a hot dog and a hamburger, you can just order a Hamdog.
