Every parent knows that Cheerios are the perfect quick food for hungry babies. They’re healthy, you can’t choke on them, and the kids and pick them up and eat them without help. They’re also pretty easy to vacuum out of carpet, and that’s a big plus.

Now, thanks to Patrick Quinn, founder of Life of Dad, a social network for dads, parents have found a new use for the cereal: Seeing how much of it they can stack on their babies’ heads.

Quinn told BuzzFeed that he got the idea when he was playing with his 3-week-old son, Maxton. “I put one Cheerio on his nose, and then tried to see how many I could stack, and it kind of just went from there,” he said.

Fathers across America were quick to rise to challenge.

So far, the record stands at 17 Cheerios.

This guy’s entry clearly doesn’t count, because:

  1. Those aren’t Cheerios
  2. That’s not a baby
  3. You have to take them out of the box

On the other hand, this guy should get some bonus points for stacking the cereal on a fully awake (and probably really confused) baby.

Other dads, lacking the ubiquitous American breakfast cereal, had to show off their stacking skills with whatever was handy.

If you want to get on the competition, you can post your own photos to the Life of Dad Facebook page using the hashtag #cheerioschallenge. Just make sure to actually feed your kid afterward.
