This guy emailed a lot of Claudias to find his Tinder dream girl

There’s such a fine line between romantic and creepy.

Everyone who’s used Tinder knows that sometimes, you accidentally swipe in a direction you didn’t intend. Sometimes this means you embarrassingly have to admit that you made a mistake and you’re not interested. Other times, it means you feel like you might have missed out on meeting someone interesting. Either way, most people shrug it off and move on. After all, it’s Tinder, and there’s always another person just a swipe away.

Hayden Moll, it seems, is not most people. He’s a student at Missouri State University in Springfield. When he accidentally swiped left on a woman he was interested in, he decided he had to find her—so he emailed everyone at his school who shared her name. It’s certainly a bit of an extreme plan, but one that appears to have worked.

Luckily for Moll, he fell for a girl named Claudia (if her name had been Jessica, he’d probably still be sending out emails).

Twitter seems pretty divided on whether this move was a sweet romantic gesture or creepy AF.

In his defense, Moll said it’s no big deal if she’s not interested—but that they could “totally get donuts or something” if she wanted to go out. On the other hand, Tinder offers a premium service for $20 that would have allowed him to go back and swipe right, which would have seemed a little less desperate. Either way, the fact that he passed on that option, and that his date idea is getting donuts, implies that Claudia’s potential beau isn’t going to be taking her to a lot of five-star restaurants.

Of course, the question on everyone’s mind is whether they ended up going out.

So far, neither of the would-be-couple has commented on their status, so it seems we’ll all have to wait to find out if they’re getting married—or if Claudia is filing a restraining order.
