Building video games within Minecraft is becoming a trend, only this time a builder not only made a game, he also built an entire arcade cabinet to go with it.
A Minecraft builder who goes by MrSquishyYT on the Planet Minecraft forums has created a working replica of the arcade classic Pac-Man, complete with all the original sound effects and an AI routine for the ghosts that matches their AI routine from the arcade game. As with many Minecraft builds, you can download the files for Minecraft Pac-Man and play the game yourself.
It took MrSquishy a year to finish his Minecraft recreation of Pac-Man. He used custom graphics to make the replica accurate, but the game was built in “vanilla” Minecraft, i.e. without any special mods to enhance its functionality.
Polygon took a video tour of the Pac-Man machine, which includes some time with MrSquishy and an explanation of how the virtual arcade game works.
