Harley Quinn has a new movie coming out where she’ll appear alongside Cassandra Cain, Renee Montoya, Black Canary, and Huntress. But don’t worry, Harley’s new flick is still based around her, and the film’s new subtitle is going viral for stressing the point with one too many words.
On Twitter, Warner Bros. confirmed the upcoming movie is now called Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). Written by Bumblebee scriptwriter Christina Hodson and directed by Cathy Yan, the film is set to come out on Feb. 2, 2020, and it’ll feature Harley Quinn alongside a gang of superheroines and anti-heroines set to take down the underworld’s sinister leader Black Mask.
Fans suspect the new name hints at Harley Quinn moving away from her romantic relationship with the Joker, which would make this a promising film for Harley fans that finally want the two to call it off. Of course, there’s nothing official yet, save for the new subtitle stocked with words like “fantabulous” and “emancipation.”

However, some DC fans are upset with the new subtitle. By this point, most DC fans know Harley Quinn’s new movie as Birds of Prey. The extended name adds some additional context, but it’s certainly a mouthful. It also raises more questions than answers about Harley’s role in the film. It didn’t take long for Twitter to start riffing on the title.

While fans await Birds of Prey for 2020, DC Comics’ Aquaman film is on the way, and it’s set to launch in the U.S. on Dec. 21. Amazon Prime subscribers can catch the movie a week early on Dec. 15.
