Before James Gunn wrote ‘Guardians of the Galaxy,’ he made porn parodies

James Gunn once made porn—well, sort of.

Guardians of the Galaxy made almost $100 million at the box office last weekend, but some of director James Gunn’s earlier work in porn is worth checking out, too.

He once wrote and directed a Troma version of Romeo and Juliet, but about five years ago, he teamed up with his brothers Sean and Brian to make James Gunn’s PG-Porn. The webseries that offered all of the groan-worthy clichés of porn without the actual sex scenes—”pornography everyone can enjoy, not just perverts.”

The webseries only ran for eight episodes, in it are a series of hilarious shorts (like Nathan Fillion as a construction worker), and Gunn even starred in a short of his own with Sasha Grey, where she’s looking for some assistance from Gunn’s mechanic.

Even without the porn, the reward is the same.
