All cat videos on the Internet are fake.

This is the premise of Joe Nicolosi’s newest short film on YouTube, “Kittywood Studios: Cat Videos Incorporated.”

Created with help from Rooster Teeth Productions — the creators of the Halo series “Red vs Blue” —  “Kittywood Studios: Cat Videos Incorporated” is a satirical behind-the-scenes look at a production company specializing in cat videos for the Internet.

The short takes the viewer through all the complicated processes of cat video creation, and includes interviews from Kittywood Studios CEO and Founder, the Senior vice president, Pre-Production Supervisor, Lead Visual Effects Supervisor, and even Head Writer.

“The room tends to chew people up and spit them back out. Day after day of pussycat videos and kitty cats just sends people over the brink, straight into the eye of madness” says the Head Writer of the cat video writing process at Kittywood.

Nicolosi explained in an e-mail to the Daily Dot that his creative impulse for the video came from being “depressed (and) trying to think of something in my life that isn’t part of some big corporate machine,” he said. “The best I could come up with was cat videos on YouTube. I started daydreaming about what it would be like if all the cat videos we know were part of some huge corporate infrastructure, and Kittywood evolved from that.”

Internet users might be familiar with Nicolosi’s previous work, like his “Mario Bros. Indie Film Trailer” that premiered at SXSW this year and has more than a million views. Nicolosi’s new YouTube channel, “pixelspersecond” is a collection of what he deems “the best of my Internet work so far,” and writes there will be “much more to come.”

“I didn’t ever think of YouTube [before] as a possible business idea, but it’s a pretty good fit for the type of films I aim to make” he adds.

When asked why we, as Internet people, are obsessed with cats, Nicolosi says: “Cats are the most intelligent life form on earth. They figured out how to enslave humanity long ago by acting cute and reclusive, and now they just own us.“
