With over 72 hours of footage uploaded every minute, it’s physically impossible to keep track of the content on YouTube. But in YouTube Guide, the Daily Dot will curate its five favorite finds for each workday.

1) Furious Pete, “Michael Phelps Diet Challenge”

This weekend, United States swimmer Michael Phelps became the most decorated athlete in Olympic history. On Thursday, world class eater Furious Pete ate Phelps’ daily allotment of calories in one sitting. The meal includes pizza, ham sandwiches, pasta, pancakes, energy drinks, and “some oatmeal with blueberries.” Woof.

2) Vsauce, “What Color is a Mirror?”

When you take a look at the spectrum of light collected by a typical mirror, you will find that it best reflects light within the 510 nanometer range. What does that mean, exactly? According to educational vlogger Vsauce, it means that all mirrors are a “tiny, tiny bit green.” But if you stick a mirror up against a blue wall, it’s also a little blue. This is crazy, right? Allow Vsauce to explain.

3) What’s Trending, “Meet NASA’s Mohawk Guy, Bobak Ferdowsi”

11 million people tuned in to last night’s Web broadcast of Mars Curiosity’s landing on the fourth rock, but on the Internet, the star of the show was NASA bad boy Bobak Ferdowsi, the flight director with the flush black mohawk and stars shaved into his sides. What’s Trending caught up with the space loving stud in the afternoon after the greatest accomplishment of his professional life. “At this point, I’m still dealing with the fact that we just landed this thing on Mars. So I haven’t had a chance to finish taking that in before getting to the whole Internet thing,” he told Shira Lazar.

4) AsapSCIENCE, “How to be UnBEETable—Olympic Advantage #2”

The next superfood in the Olympic diet: beets. According to a recent study in which participants ran one race with beets in their system and one race without, beat eaters run .4 kilometers per hour faster than those who steer clear of the root-centric plant. The wiz kids at AsapScience explain that the burst in speed arrives thanks to a beet’s abundance of nitrates, which increases the size of your blood vessels and allows blood to flow more rapidly throughout the body.

5) The Slow Mo Guys, “Fire Tennis”

Slow Mo Guys Gavin Free and Dan Gruchy want to make tennis more interesting. Their method: lighting each ball on fire. The British duo dons gas masks and lab coats before dousing a tennis ball in gasoline and lighting it on fire. How’s it compare? Judging by the crazy slow motion recap, which comes at 1:45, Gav and Dan have done their part in making tennis a whole lot cooler—er, hotter.
