Canadian DJ and headgear model deadmau5 has been pretty quiet of late. After punking Skrillex at the Grammys and then his fans by swapping an NES version of “Jingle Bells” for a leaked album download, he’s been taking it easy.
Until Thursday night.
“im baaaack ;) check this out!” he posted on Facebook.
The video, entitled “Listening Is Back: a morning of music with deadmau5,” is a very Torontonian version of MTV Cribs.
Deadmau5 wakes up in bed with his cat (the famous Professor Meowingtons), puts on some music using his Sonos wireless sound system, drinks a cup of some presumably caffeinated beverage, puts bread in the toaster, spies on people through a telescope, waits for the toast to pop up, tinkles the ivories, plays a video game, waits for the toast, pets his cat, and is finally rewarded for his patience as his nicely browned toast emerges.
That’s about as exciting as it gets in Toronto.
With 462 retweets, 48,767 views on YouTube, 12,020 Facebook likes, and 1,627 comments, it looks like Sonos has truly launched in style.
