YouTuber’s ‘creepy’ comment about Taylor Swift’s eggs gets ratioed 

Alt-right YouTuber Stefan Molyneux, popularized by his philosophy show “Freedomain,” is getting rightfully dragged online after posting a misogynistic take on Taylor Swift, urging her to have kids now that she is about to turn 30.

“I can’t believe Taylor Swift is about to turn 30 – she still looks so young! It’s strange to think that 90% of her eggs are already gone – 97% by the time she turns 40 – so I hope she thinks about having kids before it’s too late! She’d be a fun mom,” Molyneux tweeted to his more than 400,000 followers.

The backlash to his tweet came swiftly, with many using hilarious memes to express their confusion and even calling out the YouTuber on his evident misogyny.

“Why is he concerned with Taylor Swift’s eggs?” Twitter user @carlamitchell97 questioned.

Another wanted to delete Molyneux’s tweet for him.

Twitter user @iknownaama urged Molyneux to “pick a struggle” since he’s bald, misogynistic, has no lips, and is a fascist.

Even Chrissy Teigen called Molyneux “a fuckin weird ass” for his tweet.

Others took the time to point out that Molyneux’s statement was likely based on outdated information that has since been disproven.

“Bad and based off wildly outdated information,” Twitter user @oh_my_gaaawd wrote, along with a BBC article about fertility statistics.

According to the article, most of the statistics used by some doctors–and YouTube baby boomers giving unsolicited reproductive advice to pop stars–to prove that women have dramatically decreased chances of becoming pregnant after 30 are actually based on studies carried out in the 1700s. Based on new studies and data, women in their 20s and 30s have very similar chances of getting pregnant.

“Among women aged 27-34, the study showed that 86% will have conceived within a year of trying,” the article explains. “So the 82% figure for women aged 35 to 39 is only a little lower.”

Swift has yet to respond to Molyneux’s tweet, and it is unlikely that she will take the time out of her successful, child-free life to do so.
