Oscar-winning actor Peter Fonda has clearly been paying attention to the Trump administration’s policy of separating immigrant children from their parents. Now he has some select words for the first lady and her 12-year-old son.
“We should rip Barron Trump from his mother’s arms and put him in a cage with pedophiles and see if mother will stand up against the giant asshole she is married to. 90 million people in the streets on the same weekend in the same country. Fuck,” Fonda tweeted late Tuesday.
The actor, who starred in films such as Easy Rider and Ulee’s Gold, is echoing the same grief and frustration that many Americans feel in the wake of their newsfeeds. Other actors and media figures are joining in on the commentary against President Donald Trump, including Judd Apatow and Julia Louis Dreyfus. These heated feelings have only been spurred further in the wake of an Associated Press report that stated three “tender age” shelters had been established for extremely young children of immigrants.
Fonda also tweeted about Trump’s senior policy advisor Stephen Miller and Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, stating “Don’t let the pedophile Stephen Goebbels Miller near those girls separated from their parents. Trump, Sessions, Nielsen, Where are the girls? Their health and safety are in your hands and we are all watching.”
As of press time, it appears Fonda has since deleted his original tweet regarding Melania Trump.
Donald Trump Jr. responded to Fonda’s original tweet Wednesday morning, writing “why don’t you pick on someone a bit bigger. LMK.”
