Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and longtime girlfriend Meagan Camper welcomed a new daughter over the weekend, and in the grand tradition of celebrity baby names, they went with something nontraditional: Marvel Jane Wentz.
While she could be named after the iconic comic (and movie) company, or maybe even the verb “to marvel”—having your third kid as a 38-year-old pop punker certainly is marvelous—some eagle-eyed fans are thinking the baby’s middle name might hint at a slightly deeper meaning.
It turns out the Marvel character Captain Marvel‘s full name is Carol Susan Jane Danvers. So really, baby Wentz’s lowkey name meaning might be more along the lines of “Captain Marvel Jane Wentz.”

A Captain Marvel movie starring Brie Larson is set to hit theaters in March 2019, so maybe Wentz was feeling the franchise.
“She’s already ready to takeover the world ❤🌎 ,” he wrote in a Mother’s Day Instagram.
Whatever the name inspiration, Fall Out Boy’s Mania Tour will resume Aug. 24 and continue until its wrap in October.
