In a now-deleted tweet from a now-deactivated Twitter account, George Papadopoulos’ wife Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos appears to compliment herself for being a selfless wife and insinuate that she’s too good for her husband.

George Papadopoulos, who was sentenced to prison last year for lying to the FBI in Robert Muller’s Russia probe, was released on Friday after serving 12 days of a two-week sentence.

A screenshot of the tweet was shared by Will Sommer, a reporter at the Daily Beast:

At first glance, the tweet is confusing: She’s complimenting herself for her loyalty to her husband, but complaining that he doesn’t support her.

Sommer has a theory: She was trying using a burner account to boost sympathy for her, and simply forgot to switch accounts.

Her Twitter account has since been deactivated, but Twitter being the platform that it is, people are already musing about what Simona Mangiante Papadopoulos was up to.

Before her account was deleted, Papadopoulos also apparently tweeted “you better change extensions. Weak point” and “watch out,” according to Splinter, potentially setting her Twitter account up to look like it had been hacked.

This isn’t the first time she has embarrassed herself on Twitter. In August, almost a year after George pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in their investigation, she tweeted a request for a pro bono lawyer, with the tempting offer of having their name “go down in history” for helping George sue the government.

George has also gotten in trouble for Twitter indiscretions; in November, Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III used Papadopoulos’ tweets saying he regretting pleading guilty to lying to the FBI to shoot down his attempts to delay his prison sentence.

The couple is expected to appear at the American Priority conference Saturday.

Maybe George Papadopoulos’ exclusive interview with American Priority will tell us what exactly is going on between these two.
