The Game, Nick Cannon publicly grieve Nipsey Hussle

Following the death of rapper Nipsey Hussle, other performers with ties to Nipsey seem to be processing their grief through social media.

Hussle (real name Ermias Asghedom) was shot multiple times in Los Angeles on Sunday and later pronounced dead at the hospital. He was 33.

Rapper The Game posted a series of Instagram Stories on Monday morning following news Nipsey’s death. In the videos, The Game (real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor) films the road as he drives at what he says is 4am. Although The Game does not appear in the video, it’s clear that he is heavily distraught.

“I can’t even fucking sleep, man. I’m disgusted by this shit,” he said. “In his own city? In his own hood? In his own place of business?” 

Actor and rapper Nick Cannon also sought solace over the loss of his friend via a public statement.

In the Instagram post, Nick Cannon said he will carry out Hussle’s wishes and “unfinished King business,” including the completion of a documentary that Hussle had been producing. The documentary focuses on the controversial Honduran herbalist and healer Dr. Sebi, who claimed to have discovered the cure for AIDS. People on social media floated theories that Hussle and Dr. Sebi’s deaths were connected.

“Now, Your message is my message! Your work is my work,” Cannon wrote on Instagram. 

The New York Daily News reports that although an anonymous law enforcement source said the LAPD has a suspect in mind for Hussle’s death, the suspect was not in custody by Monday morning.
