NBC’s upcoming streaming service, Peacock, will have a slew of ’80s reboots and original titles available when it launches.
The service will include access to NBC favorites like Parks and Recreation, Friday Night Lights, and yes, The Office (when it finally leaves Netflix in January 2021). Reboots of Battlestar Galactica, Punky Brewster, and Saved by the Bell are also in the works. Additionally, Bonnie Hammer, NBCUniversal chairman of direct-to-consumer and digital enterprises, teased a possible reboot of The Office to Deadline.
At launch, Peacock will join Disney+, Apple TV+, and HBO Max in the new streaming service war. Here’s everything we know so far about the NBCUniversal streaming service.

The basics
Peacock is set to launch nationally on July 15, 2020. It will be available to Comcast and Xfinity X1 subscribers on April 15, 2020.
NBCUniversal is offering two tiers: Peacock Free, an ad-supported free option with more scaled back access, and Peacock Premium, available as a no-cost bundle to Comcast and Xfinity subscribers and priced at $49.99 a year for non-subscribers (with ads) or $99.99 a year for an ad-free experience. (NBC is offering a pre-launch $20 discount for each annual package.)

NBC series announced for the platform so far include 30 Rock, A.P. Bio, Bates Motel, Battlestar Galactica, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Cheers, Chrisley Knows Best, Covert Affairs, Downton Abbey, Everybody Loves Raymond, Frasier, Friday Night Lights, House, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, King of Queens, Married… With Children, Monk, Parenthood, Parks and Recreation, Psych, Royal Pains, Saturday Night Live, Superstore, The Real Housewives, Top Chef, and Will & Grace.
Peacock original series
Original series announced so far include a reboot of Saved by the Bell from 30 Rock‘s Tracey Wigfield. Starring Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley, the reboot finds Zack Morris as governor of California. A Punky Brewster reboot starring Soleil Moon Frye as a single mom will also stream on Peacock. Then there’s a spinoff of Battlestar Galactica from Mr. Robot‘s Sam Esmail, which he tweeted will focus on a “new story within the mythology.”
Peacock will also stream Dr. Death, starring Alec Baldwin, Christian Slater, and Jamie Dornan. Brave New World stars Demi Moore, while Mike Schur’s new comedy Rutherford Falls stars Ed Helms. Angelyne features Emmy Rossum. Straight Talk stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Rashida Jones. One of Us Is Lying, an adaptation of the 2017 novel, will also stream on Peacock.
Plus, the streaming service will run an SNL documentary series called Who Wrote That and a spinoff of The Real Housewives. Talk shows from Amber Ruffin and Jimmy Fallon are also in the works, as is a second Psych movie, titled Psych 2: Lassie Come Home.
New original series announced in January 2020 include: Hatching Twitter, which explores the origins of Twitter; a serialized version of MacGruber, starring Will Forte; Expecting, a comedy about a sperm donor from Mindy Kaling; The Adventure Zone, an animated series based on the McElroys’ Dungeons & Dragons podcast of the same name; Lady Parts, a comedy about a Muslim punk band; Girls5Eva, a comedy about a girl group reunion from Tina Fey; Clean Slate, about a man reuniting with his trans daughter (Laverne Cox), executive produced by Norman Lear; Division One, a women’s soccer comedy from Amy Poehler; and a reboot of Queer As Folk.

In addition to its slate of shows, Peacock will also stream films. Those announced so far include American Pie, Back to the Future, A Beautiful Mind, the Bourne franchise, Bridesmaids, Brokeback Mountain, Casino, Dallas Buyers Club, Do the Right Thing, Erin Brockovich, E.T., the Fast and Furious franchise, Field of Dreams, Jaws, Knocked Up, Mamma Mia!, Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers, Shrek, and The Breakfast Club.
