It hasn’t been a great year for Morrissey. The singer canceled concerts because it’s too cold and made some spicy comments about Kevin Spacey and sexual harassment, which he later claimed were taken out of context by Der Spiegel.
Now he’s posted a missive to his nephew’s YouTube channel, titled “Morrissey’s December Speech,” to address the apparent smear campaign against him. But first:
In the eight-minute clip, Morrissey discusses the poor sales of his new album, Low in High School, and the “haters” in the media who “derailed” the release, specifically Der Spiegel. He claims he was “cross-examined by the American Secret Service” for comments made to Der Spiegel about President Donald Trump, but that they were “very nice.”
Morrissey also calls out a culture where “all of us are destroyed constantly, no matter what we do.” It’s a Smiths song inside a Real Housewives confessional.
Maybe it’s time for Morrissey to start vlogging. Jake Paul collab, perhaps?
