Legendary metal quartet Metallica is reportedly working on its 10th studio album and first since 2008’s Death Magnetic. In the meantime, Brazilian YouTubers are eagerly mashing up live footage so that James Hetfield’s clique sings the theme from Pokémon.
The clip is a heavily tinkered minute-plus and an unrestrained reinventing of the tragic Jason Paige original. Uploaded July 27 by Brazilian mashup artist Gabriel Salles, the video has racked up a staggering 10 million views across YouTube and Facebook, according to Billboard.
Ask not for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for Pokémon.
