One does not simply create memes by tweeting them

Websites like Meme Generator have revolutionized the world of Internet jokes by allowing users to easily create their own using image templates.

But who has time to visit a website these days?

That’s where Twitter account @memerobot can help.

The bot account scours the Twitterverse for tweets containing phrases from popular image macros, or templates, like “Y U NO,” “I don’t always,” and “One does not simply” and turns them into images. Some tweets are turned into images in less than 10 minutes, while others can take up to an hour.

The acccount, launched at the end of January, has already churned out more than 2,600 tweets.

Here’s a look at some of the best ones so far.
