Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets segments have thrown insults and backhanded comments toward the celebrities who read them for years, but the latest edition has one celebrity reading the response of the very person he impersonates on TV.
Alec Baldwin’s mean tweet is from none other than Donald Trump himself. Given how much Baldwin’s Emmy award-winning impression of him has angered Trump in the past, it’s not a surprise that Trump’s tweet is an assessment of how Baldwin performed on Saturday Night Live. Although Baldwin has responded to Trump’s comments in the past, this time he kept it simple with a head tilt as he read (and said), “Sad.”
But he’s far from the only one fielding insults and comments from the internet as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Jake Gyllenhaal, Jim Parsons, Jennifer Lawrence, and Kumail Nanjiani take their turn at responding to mean tweets. While the insults might not always be clever, plenty of the responses are.
