Call Me Gangnam Style

Carly PSY Jepsen, anyone?

Start your week right with the Daily Dot’s Monday Mashup: the best music remix from around the Web. Turn up your speakers or pop on your headphones, and bring the funk.

It had to happen: a 3:54 match made in mashup heaven: South Korean pop phenomenon PSY’s glamo-ridiculous, simultaneously hyperlocal and global phenomenon “Gangnam Style” intertwined with twee Canadian Carly Rae Jepsen’s mating call, “Call Me Maybe.”

“Call Me Gangnam Style” has had 108,239 views since its Sept. 25 upload, with a likes-to-dislikes ratio of approximately 10 to one. The haters are probably just angry they can’t get it out of their heads.

When you put together two songs each endowed with a hook that could disembowel a whale, it almost doesn’t matter how different they are. You have yourself a guaranteed earworm.

This one is so infectious it’s already inspired a tough Blogilates workout video with 107,056 views of its own. So if you can’t stop playing the song, at the very least you can get tight buns for consolation.

Hey, maybe he WILL call after all.
