That annoyingly high buzz emitting from your Twitter stream is due to South by Southwest tweets—and we have a way to stop them.

Silence the joy SXSW festival-goers are having (and you’re not) with a new browser extension that hides all SXSW-related tweets in your Twitter stream. Called “Not at SXSW,” the add-on hides tweets from attendees and zaps tweets that mentions “SXSW.”

We tried it out in Safari and it works seamlessly. SXSW-related tweets are minimized but you have the option to see the hidden tweets if you want to crush your soul.

“Lanyrd is not responsible for the outcome. If you need to hide more, you can add your own set of terms to hide,” the site reads.  Created by Lanyrd, the add-on works with Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari browsers.

There is an alternate hashtag, #NotatSXSW, for people to share what they’re doing instead.

“For the next week my hands will be over my ears while I go ‘LALALALALA’ #notatsxsw,” tweeted @jmachiaverna.

Why do that when there is an app for that?
