Fiona Apple is apparently getting into the holiday spirit by parodying Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song,” making the lyrics about—what else—President-elect Donald Trump.
With passages such as “Everybody knows some money and entitlement can help to make the season white/Mothers of color with their kids out of sight will find it hard to sleep at night,” it sounds like maybe she’s not a fan?
To clear up any confusion, Apple closes the a cappella performance with “Donald Trump, fuck you.”
The video itself appeared on fan Tumblr Fiona Apple Rocks this week, though its actual origins remain murky. (It’s not posted on Apple’s website, and the singer doesn’t have high-profile social media beyond a quiet Facebook page.)
It’s seasonally appropriate, if nothing else.
