Kevin Durant is a trending topic on Twitter for the second day in a row and it isn’t because of his insane performance at Rucker Park Monday night.

The man they call “Durantula” dropped 41 points last night at a Nike Pro City basketball game against John Lucas III and his Big Apple Basketball team.

Lucas, a point guard with the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, sunk 66 points against Durant, a forward on the NBA’s Oklahokma City Thunder. Yet despite Lucas’ monster performance at Baruch College, it wasn’t enough to get the win.

Durant landed “a 3-pointer with 5.7 seconds left to send the game to overtime where his team, The Franchise, beat Lucas’ squad, Big Apple Basketball, 146-143,” reported ESPN.

Durant fans flocked to Twitter where they swooned over his 41 point performance.

“Kevin Durant will be the best player in the league once Kobe retires. He’s next,” tweeted James Clay. “(He) has the killer instinct and he thrives on competition.”

#FutureTweet Kevin Durant wins MVP. Scoring title again. Conference championship. Win the finals & be Finals MVP!” tweeted Desmond Gibson.

“Did he break a sweat?” tweeted Dame Wrights.

In the last two days, Durant has scored 107 points. With another game scheduled tonight at Dyckman Park in Washington Heights, Durant could easily reach 150 points. Now, is that some kind of record, ESPN?
