MotorTrend is “The Magazine for a Motoring World” and it has been for more than 70 years. The name is so ubiquitous when it comes to automotive aficionados that it’s one of the few magazines to also have its own channel.

Among the fantastic programming available on MotorTrend are Chasing Classic Cars, which showcases the legendary cars of the last century and the pitfalls of buying, selling, and restoring these priceless antiques. Roadkill, hosted by Hot Rod Magazine editor-in-chief David Freiburger features “guys behind badly with cars.” You know, the kind of weird, but watchable show you expect from a deep cut cable channel. There’s also reruns of the best car shows ever produced including American Hot Rod and Top Gear.

Here’s everything you need to know to watch a MotorTrend livestream.

What is MotorTrend?

Originally, this channel launched as Discovery HD Theater in 2002, and specialized in the budding world of high definition with programs including When Dinosaurs Roamed America and Sunrise Earth. The channel later rebranded as simply HD Theater in 2007. In 2011, it became Velocity, which resembled its current format, specializing in automotive programming. In 2018, Velocity officially re-branded as MotorTrend, though it retained most of its original programming.
