We take you now to Clearwater, Fla., where real adult woman Rachel Anne Hayes, 27, was arrested for drunkenly assaulting her grandmother, 72, over a matter of Facebook friendship.

Local media reports that Hayes—who has been brought up on charges of driving under the influence and public urination in the past—“repeatedly slapped her grandmother” at her home. The elderly woman had refused to accept a friend request from her granddaughter, which sparked a dispute that led to the alleged domestic battery around 3:30am this morning.

Pinellas County sheriff’s deputies noted Hayes’s intoxication, but we know the real culprit here: social media rage. Who among us hasn’t felt like smacking a relative for something they said or did online? Still, this isn’t the way to boost your friend count—unless you’re on Instagram.
