A viral Twitter post about a mom who allegedly posted memes to Facebook about going maskless through Walmart and then tested positive for COVID-19 herself has people crying out “karma.”

A series of screenshots from @maleeezy_ shows “a story in two parts.”

In the first post, a woman named Tessie Smith shared a familiar photo of Leonardo DiCaprio skipping, captioned, “Me wearing no mask and going the wrong way down every aisle in Walmart.”

But life comes at you fast, and what looks to be only nine days later, Smith updated her Facebook friends and family that she had tested positive for “the COVID-19.”

“Right now my only symptoms are dizzy spells, dry throat and cough which I thought were just allergies,” she allegedly wrote. “Please keep my family in your prayers as I have a lot of kids who I am worried about most especially my 2 month old.”

Smith seems to be yet another example of the types of people around the United States who refuse to take the coronavirus outbreak seriously until it affects them personally. And that kind of attitude is proving tiresome to everyone else who is trying to follow social distancing protocols and play it safe.

“Don’t send this woman hate, but please learn from her mistakes,” @tofubuddie suggested.

But not everyone is down with showing that sort of kindness to someone who may have failed to be considerate of others during the pandemic.

“To hell with that shit,” @AwesomeFrank7 fired back. “She had it coming when she refused to do one simple thing, and on top of that, she made fun of it?! Karma is swift justice.”

Ultimately, the virus obviously isn’t discerning between people who make jokes about masks and people who don’t. But it has been proven through a little thing called science that wearing a mask reduces your likelihood of transmitting COVID-19 to others through respiratory droplets, especially if you’re infected and don’t know it. Meaning that if Smith truly was going out shopping without a mask, she could have infected numerous strangers with her own selfishness.

“Jokes aside…take this virus seriously. It’s not a political issue. The Covid doesn’t give a fuck about your politics,” wrote @karanbirtinna of the original post. “What are you? An infant? Grow up! Wear a mask! People are dying!”
