Sen Ted Cruz‘s (R-Tex.) Twitter bio reads “Father of two, @heidiscruz’s husband, fighter for liberty.” Perhaps it should also include the phrase “casual enjoyer of porn,” because after last night, that, too, appears to be part of his brand.

Late in the evening, Ted Cruz’s Twitter likes (a way for users to flag tweets from others that they enjoy) included a video from @SexuallPosts, an account that reshares snippets from porn. The only way for that to happen is if, while on Twitter last night, Cruz (or whoever was running his account at the time), smashed the like on the below video. (Warning: It’s extremely NSFW.)

Lots of people swiftly noticed.

The tweet was quickly unliked, with Ted Cruz’s communication director responding over Twitter.

Of course, it wasn’t posted, as Catherine Frazer claimed. It was liked by whoever was logged into Cruz’s account. And there’s nothing to report. It’s perfectly legal for Twitter users to post pornography, and it’s perfectly legal for a sitting U.S. senator to enjoy some.

Naturally, Twitter went off over the event.

One user noticed a shocking similarity.

SexuallPosts even updated its bio.

Now that’s a good brand.

Update 9:45am CT, Sept. 12: Cruz spoke to reporters about the incident this morning, denying specifically that it was him who liked the porn tweet, saying that numerous people have access to the account.
