There are perks to being your own boss, one of which is that when you are too drunk to go to work, you don’t have to go to work.

Better yet, you don’t need to make up some B.S. excuse to give to your boss so he doesn’t think you prioritize getting buzzed over doing your job.

You can just be like “yup, I’m still drunk and don’t want to go to work.”

And that’s that.

A Queensland pizza parlor owner is getting props online for taking that tact, when he took to Facebook to announce he was a little too tipsy to come open his restaurant.

“It is with bittersweet emotions that i must inform you all that gaslight is closed tonight. I am at the magic millions on the gold coast and a horse that i have a share in has just won a big race and i have had a few drinks and cannot make it back into work. I also do not have adequate backup in the culinary department and do not want to disappoint all of my regular, loyal customers with food that does not have my personal approval. I realize this is highly unprofessional and i have not taken the decision lightly. Rest assured that Gaslight will be open tomorrow for business as usual and i hope you will continue to support us in the future . Once again i apologize and have a great day, even though it cant be made greater by eating at gaslight. Blake”

Heck yea, Blake. We all should be allowed to have a few drinks every once in a while and just say, “I needed a day.” We would all be more productive and happier in the long run, instead of feeling like we are always grinding.

People loved his honesty and responded with enthusiasm

“Like & appreciate your honesty. Congratulations!” said one commenter. “Everyone deserves time off…… Enjoy,” said another. ““That’s possibly the very best ‘sick note’ I’ve ever seen! Congratulations on both fronts,” added a third.

The Gaslight Pizza owner said his horse took home a $250,000 prize and that his share in it was worth around $10,000.

That seems like a good enough reason to call in drunk. Seems like a great reason, to be honest.

The colloquial style of Blake’s post, though, matches the tenor of the restaurant’s Facebook page throughout.

That is how you win at social in 2017.
