South African soccer player Mohammed Anas had an outstanding game on Friday night, scoring two goals for the Free State Stars in their 2-2 draw vs. Ajax Cape Town. He was awarded the man of the match after the game, and he immediately was interviewed about his performance.
And that’s when life turned more difficult than Anas probably could have imagined. That’s because Anas thanked his wife for her support. And then, in the next breath, he thanked his girlfriend. Watch his slip of the tongue and then his furious attempt to backtrack.

Yikes.
Perhaps from now on, Anas, when a TV camera is shoved in his face, should stick to the standard athlete cliché: Say “Hi, mom” and get the hell out of there before anything else escapes from his mouth.
