man dyes girlfriends skin blue

YouTube prankster Kristen Hanby found himself in hot water after putting his girlfriend, Jasmine Brownsword, in blue water—and turning her skin a different color.

Hanby—who has accrued millions of followers across YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, and more—shared a video over the weekend in which he spiked an unsuspecting Brownsword’s bubble bath with blue fabric dye. She gets out of the tub in a rage and looks in dismay at her body, which is dyed blue from shoulders to feet, as Hanby laughs hysterically.

Not everybody enjoyed the prank as much as Hanby himself. Twitter user @juustmolls shared an excerpt from Hanby’s since-deleted TikTok with the caption, “I don’t find this funny at all omg”; it has received 174,000 likes and 33,000 retweets.

Tons of people chimed in under @juustmolls’ tweet, calling Hanby’s prank an act of domestic abuse and saying Brownsword should leave him.

“He put *CHEMICALS* in her bath watering knowing her opened vag was going to be submerged in it for who [knows] how long until she realized what was up,” @sinnimon_ tweeted. “Men are a curse.”

“Again men can only have fun and make jokes by making women the butt of the joke,” @SeliciaTurney wrote. “Men are not funny.”

Others weren’t convinced that Hanby’s prank was as heinous as it initially seemed. They noted that the YouTuber regularly stages elaborate pranks, and this was likely no different. (Hanby did not immediately respond to the Daily Dot’s request for comment.)

“Anyone who believes that these are real pranks is so dumb,” @chloe0k tweeted. “She would have noticed before an hour, you’re telling me she didn’t move her hand out of the water once? Sure. No it’s staged and for views. And stupid as hell.”

Brownsword appears to have recovered from the prank and made up with Hanby, as she celebrated their two-year anniversary on Instagram on Sunday—no blue skin to be found.
