Any good chef will tell you that part of what makes a dish delectable is the presentation. It’s why fancy restaurants—which serve their food on pristine, expensive china and offer polished silverware—fare better with foodies than, for examples, McDonald’s, where the presentation is either “box” or “yellow cellophane paper.”

Fictional chef “Jacques LaMerde” decided to see just how great a presentation can make a dish by serving beautiful and artistic junk food.

The faux chef’s Instagram account, @chefjacqueslamerde, displays photo after photo of what appear to be gorgeous dishes but, upon closer inspection, end up being Saltine crackers, corn chips, and even a marshmallow Peep.

We know what you’re thinking, because we’re thinking it too: This is an amazing concept for a trendy restaurant.
