This is not the best way to get off a boat, FYI

Having grown up on an island where a ferry ride was the only way to get to the mainland, I can tell you that there’s only a small handful of ferry-related rules you need to know:

  1. Don’t get run over by a ferry
  2. Don’t get run over by a ferry
  3. Seriously, do not get run over by a ferry

This cool guy? He broke all three rules:

(Sorry, this embed was not found.)

And yet he lived to survive. What does this tell us about ferry travel in the digital age?

  1. Still, do not get run over by a ferry.
  2. It is not worth trying to look cool by doing a cool-guy walk off a ferry, even if someone is filming, because you might get run over by a ferry.
  3. If you do get run over by a ferry, do not give up. You may be able to compensate for falling beneath the gangplank of a ferry by scrambling to your feet before you get crushed.
  4. Always film ferry arrivals; you never know when a guy might get run over by a ferry.
  5. If you are filming a ferry arrival, turn your phone sideways, because a guy might get run over by a ferry but somehow survive, meaning you’ll have gold on your hands.
  6. SERIOUSLY DO NOT GET RUN OVER BY A FERRY. WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?
