Tropical Storm Isaac might have not hit landfall yet, but it already has a legion of Facebook fans.

A Facebook fan page for the storm has racked up more than 117,000 likes since its creation on Aug. 22. The page offers a stream of updates from various weather networks, radar pictures of the affected areas, and track forecasting from the National Weather Service.

But you might want to double check those sources.

The unknown page creator not only spelled the storm’s name wrong (“Issac”), but the author overzealously labeled it as a hurricane when it’s still a tropical storm. It’s expected to reach Category 1 hurricane status Monday evening as it churns over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, if it’s any consolation.

The page’s steady patter of odd wall postings is truly a peculiar sight to behold. The comments fall into three categories: people posting on the wall asking for updates, dumb memes, and heroic stories of survival.

Lacy Mills wrote on the page asking, “Which way is Isaac heading?” (The forecast track is displayed prominently on the page’s cover photo.)

Lisa Steinmetz used the wall to complain about how she ate all of her hurricane snacks, which consisted of a Weight Watchers-friendly menu of frozen yogurt and popcorn. “And a bottle of wine!,” she enthusiastically added.

Meanwhile, mommy blogger Marcy Grauer is astutely looking to capitalize off Isaac. She posted a link to her blog with a list of fun, hurricane-themed activities to help keep your “little ones busy.” All that posts needs is a list of some splashy cocktails to make mommy and daddy’s pain go away.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for something more melodramatic, there is the appropriately titled Dramatic Hurricane Isaac Updates page for all your New Orleans-themed, media-mocking needs.
