Unlike a veterinarian who has to take care of horses, cows, and llamas, there’s not much danger of your local vet being carried off by the animal he or she is examining. It’s not like a bulldog or a shih tzu would be strong enough—even when panicked—to lift a fully grown human and forcibly move that person around a room.

Yeah, you’d think that, wouldn’t you? Well, obviously you haven’t met the dog in the video below, which picks up the woman caring for it and zips away to parts unknown, leaving the survivors in a state of hysterics (seriously, the two left behind can’t stop laughing).

Two questions:

  1. I understand the appeal of wanting to tame a wild animal and ride it until it’s broken down and able to be saddled, but why didn’t the woman simply let go of the dog when it picked her up and took her away? Was it really important to be able to last 8 seconds on top of the animal, like in a competitive bull ride?
  2. How do you think that dog would fare against Triple Crown winner American Pharoah? Because this dog’s speed out of the gate might give it a leg up on the race horse if the course was short enough.

Sadly, these questions have yet to be answered. In fact, we’re not sure the woman has been found since her ride into the viral, viral west.
