The name Dick Pound and the hashtag #BisexualMenExist trended at the same time on Twitter, and users loved it.

The BisexualMenExist hashtag is fairly self-explanatory. Vaneet Mehta created it in response to the biphobia and erasure that bisexual men face.

“The biphobia towards Bi men recently has been so shit and honestly, in MY LGBT+ history month?! How dare! So I’m bring back #BisexualMenExist for some much needed positivity! Drop a pic below with the hashtag and RT this thread! Allies, also RT! I’ll start!” Mehta tweeted. (LGBT+ history month is observed in February in the U.K.)

Dick Pound, however, needs a little bit more of an explanation. Pound is an International Olympic Committee member who came to the internet’s attention when he made a statement regarding the fate of the upcoming Olympics, which are to be held in Tokyo. Pound announced that if the coronavirus outbreak isn’t under control in three months, the Olympics will be canceled in the name of public safety.

“In and around that time, I’d say folks are going to have to ask: ‘Is this under sufficient control that we can be confident about going to Tokyo or not?’” He told AP.

While many were concerned with the Olympics being canceled, Twitter users were far more intrigued by Pound’s name.

But then it got better. Some astute users noticed that the two hashtags, Dick Pound and  Bisexual Men Exist, were trending at the same time. Of course, jokes and memes ensued.

What a time to be alive.
