Want to read Reddit but don’t have the time? Our daily Reddit Digest highlights the most interesting or important discussions from around the social news site—every morning.

  • Novelty subreddit and weird art project r/picturesofiansleeping has gone pretty much silent since Mar. 1. Why? The girlfriend of the photogenic sleeper, who fans simply refer to as “+” (think: “Ian + 1”), apparently has a quite protective mother. She has threatened to sue both Reddit and Imgur unless images of her daughter are removed. The threats worked and the pictures are now gone. The daughter, it should be noted, had no problem with the subreddit or the photographs. (/r/modclub)

  • Tim Shafer, the guy behind some of the greatest adventure games of all time (Monkey Island 2, Day of the Tentacle, Fadango), answered redditors’s questions on Sunday. ” There are so many interesting things to study in this world,” he wrote, “and it all feeds back into game design.” (/r/IAmA)

  • Redditors want to take away  Viagra from Republicans. It’s only fair, right? “Why is it that drugs like Viagra are not targeted by conservatives like Rick Santorum?” ns2k2 asks. “Like contraception, doesn’t Viagra give ‘a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be?” (/r/politics)

  • High in the mountains of Bulgaria is a stunning, abandoned communist monument that looks like the homebase for a cabal of megalomaniacal supervillains. Hollywood should just jump in and buy the place right now. (/r/offbeat)

  • Repetitive, unfunny jokes abound as Danny Rubin, the guy who wrote the Bill Murray classic Groundhog Daydoes an AMA. I almost wrote that sentence twice, but I have a modicum of shame. (/r/iama)

  • This handy infographic from Reddit Enhancement Suite designer solidwhetstone is a great intro to Reddit’s front page for beginners. (/r/Enhancement)

  • Reddit’s atheists went mad with self-love over the weekend with a “face of atheism” trend, wherein they posted pro-atheism messages superimposed over pictures of themselves. Even r/circlejerk, in its noble attempt at mockery, couldn’t quite keep up. (/r/atheism)
