The fun, campy Batman and Robin from the classic 1960s TV show are making a comeback. On a Mad Monster Party panel the original actors who played the Caped Crusader (Adam West) and Boy Wonder (Burt Ward) revealed that they will be returning to their iconic roles for a new animated film.

According to Ward, the actors will voice their characters in the movie which will be a full-length 90 minute feature and possibly the first of two potential films. It will be released next year for the 50th anniversary of the show which aired from 1966 to 1968.

Not only are these heroes returning, but 13th Dimension is reporting that the first Catwoman from the series, Julie Newmar, will be a part of the project as well. With the movie not coming out until 2016, even more familiar voices could be announced for movie, which will hopefully be a fitting tribute to a series that had us eagerly tuning in to the same Bat-time, same Bat-channel every week.
