These are the shows you grew up with, although not as you remember them.
We know TV and what’s on it has changed drastically in the past 20 years, and while we may cringe or seem confused at Nickelodeon’s current lineup, we fondly remember the shows we devoured in childhood whenever we could. Fanboy & Chum Chum or the neverending SpongeBob SquarePants have nothing on classics like Doug, Rugrats, Rocko’s Modern Life, and Cat-Dog.
But are we looking at them through rose-colored lenses? BuzzFeed, the kings of ’90s nostalgia, sat a bunch of people in front of a screen and showed them scenes from those shows again. While initially excited for the aspect, they had a lot more questions and appreciation for the humor, though some aspects didn’t hold up as well.
How our parents sat through it—even with the adult-level humor—we’ll never know.
And the same question we had as kids still remains as adults: How does CatDog poop? Inquiring minds need to know, Nickelodeon!
