Mitt Romney really wants to be president of “Amercia.”

The Republican presidential nominee released an iPhone application Tuesday and embarrassingly butchered the spelling of the country he wants to lead. The app lets users take photos with a graphic saying “A Better Amercia” placed on top. The mistake was quickly corrected, but not until it caught the ire of Tumblr and Twitter users.

Tumblr users mocked the spelling blunder with a new single-serve blog, Amercia is with Mitt! It’s filled with around 40 submissions of what anti-Romney voters envision “Amercia” as. One user appropriately submitted a picture of a dictionary while another person submitted a picture of George W. Bush.

On Twitter, the word “Amercia” was tweeted nearly 10,000 times in the past 24 hours, according to Topsy. Many of the top retweets were pointed to articles, but a tweet from Jeopardy! winner Ken Jennings received 140 tweets: “If Mitt Romney wins I’m moving to Amercia.”

Another Twitter user, mocked the fate of the graphic designer. “Some poor app designer is getting strapped in a cage on the top of a car and driven across the country tonight #amercia,” Andrew Cove tweeted.

We collected some of our favorite “Amercia” images below.
