We all know artists can render magical drawings, but did you know they can also bring inanimate objects to life?

That’s what artist Stefan Pabst did with the cute little spider he created from scratch using only a graph paper tablet and a pen—if by “little” you mean “terrifyingly large” and by “cute” you mean “eager to jump off the page and kill you.”

It’s a good thing we saw this happen with our own eyes, because otherwise we never would have believed it was an illusion.

Pabst uploaded his drawing in June, but it’s only recently gone viral thanks to Tumblr and Facebook posts full of people freaking out about the realness of this furry guy.

This spider is big enough to haunt our nightmares for weeks to come. We shudder to think what Pabst could do with an even larger graphing tablet.
