Watch the trailer for Studio Ghibli’s ‘Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter’

The show is coming to Amazon Prime in less than three weeks.

More than two years after it aired in Japan, the Studio Ghibli series Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter will be available to U.S. audiences via Amazon Prime.

The series is based on the children’s novel by Astrid Lindgren about a bandit’s daughter in medieval Scandinavia. She befriends the son of a rival chieftain, and the two children embark upon adventures together in a nearby forest.

Co-produced by Studio Ghibli and Polygon Pictures, Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter was directed by Goro Miyazaki, son of Hayao Miyazaki

The series consists of 26 25-minute episodes. Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter will be available on Amazon Prime on Jan. 27.
