Just in case you need another reason to love NASA scientists, we just discovered the Jet Propulsion Laboratory’s annual pumpkin-decorating contest.

NASA engineer Aaron Yazzie has been tweeting photos and video of those Halloween pumpkins, and some of them are seriously impressive. For instance, this mechanized Pacman pumpkin is a lowkey technological marvel.

Inevitably, someone made an election-themed pumpkin.

Yep, it’s safe to say that NASA’s pumpkins put everyone else’s carved Jack-o’-Lantern designs to shame.
