YouTube channel Ahoy has been making awesome videos detailing weapon types in video games for a while now. This Magnum revolver video just nails it.
Narrator Stuart Brown does a great job detailing the history of the revolver and why, as a weapon, it’s so popular. When relating that back to video games, he talks of its immense strength, and the game of chicken that players have to deal with. The revolver can take out an enemy easily in one or two shots.
However, it only fires one shot at a time. Ammunition is scarce, recoil is high, and reloading isn’t quick. Players have to be careful, aim fast, and not miss. It brings tension and balance to the firearm, and has become a staple for many shooters.
