Mad Max: Fury Road was widely praised for its distinctive visual style, featuring epic desert landscapes and unprecedented use of practical effects. Its orange/blue color palette is particularly memorable, but according to director George Miller, the best version of the film is actually in black and white.

This “Black & Chrome” cut was mentioned by Miller back in 2015, and was included on the Blu-ray release. Now, you can stream it on Amazon.

George Miller characterized each of the two versions as a different response to using de-saturated color in post-apocalyptic movies. The black and white cut wasn’t suitable for a mainstream cinema release, but fans will surely be glad to see it become available to stream online.
