With the merch avalanche that accompanied the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, we’re up to our eyeballs in lightsaber options. But how does one go about building a fully functional one that could, ya know, set stuff on fire?

YouTuber Sufficiently Advanced decided to give it a go, and he can been seen nervously laughing as he does the first test, which involves lighting a cigarette with it. He gives us a rundown of how the creation is fueled (boric acid, butane stream) then he lights it up. “This is so scary,” he says at one point. “I’m getting used to it though.”

For the final act, he does something we’ve all wanted to do: destroy Jar Jar Binks
