Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown is about to make her blockbuster movie debut. Starring in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the first teaser focuses squarely on her character.

It’s a direct sequel to the 2014 Godzilla movie, continuing Legendary’s monster franchise after Kong: Skull Island. The teaser calls back to both previous movies, as Millie Bobby Brown makes an emergency call to Monarch, the secret research organization that dealt with the monsters in Kong and Godzilla. She’s playing Madison Russell, daughter of two Monarch scientists played by Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga.

Here’s the film’s plot summary, involving some classic kaiju from the Godzilla franchise:

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.

It’s mostly a new cast this time around, although Ken Watanabe is reprising his role from the last Godzilla movie—now accompanied by Sally Hawkins, who will presumably find this a very different experience from her last monster movie, The Shape of Water.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters comes out in May 2019, and is expected to lead into an epic King Kong/Godzilla crossover in the future.
