When Pinterest redesigned profiles last month, users asked for more. Now Pinterest has responded in kind.
Now the image sharing network has proved that it’s been listening.
Pinterest has just unveiled a new feature, Board Covers, seemingly at the request of its users:
“A couple weeks ago we launched our new design for Pinterest profiles and we got a lot of great suggestions from Pinners. One of the most requested features was the ability to choose a pin to be the cover for each board. Today, you’ll be able to do just that.”
The redesign did away with the old nine-square grid of pinboard previews. Instead, a user’s most recent pin is featured, taking up most of the preview space.
From now on, users have more control over which pin to feature in the preview space. Instead of the most recent pin defaulting to that space, users can anchor a favorite pin there. When it comes to collaborative boards, the board creator alone gets to choose which pin shows up.
Users who’ve taken the time to comment on the change seem pleased, but also they have plenty more suggestions for what Pinterest should add next.
“This is so great, thank you!! Next thing, pretty please, can we re-arrange our pins?” wrote Cindi.
